Heat Safety in the Workplace

As seasonal temperatures begin to rise, ESSR encourages the campus community to review heat safety tips and prepare for working or spending time outdoors during warmer conditions. Purple Line Work Safety Requirements

Working near the Purple Line on the University of Maryland campus presents unique safety risks due to active light rail operations, overhead electrical wires, and restricted right-of-way areas. UMD staff planning or performing work within 25 feet of the rail must follow required safety practices and complete the training outlined below.
