Training

Working in a farm fieldAll field researchers must be trained on the hazards and required controls associated with their work activities and field environment by the principal investigator. The Research Specific Training for Field Work can be used as a template for this training.

ESSR provides classroom trainings that may be useful for field researchers.

We recommend that all field researchers attend a basic CPR/First Aid training.

We highly recommend researchers who are going to be traveling to areas greater than one hour from medical care have Wilderness First Aid training. These two day trainings are provided by these vendors:

Additional trainings are available from external vendors for specific activities (glacier travel, arborist tree climbing, ATV use, etc.). Please contact our office for assistance in identifying the most appropriate vendor for your needs.
