Purpose:
The Youth Protection Steering Committee is dedicated to the safeguarding of minors who participate in university affiliated activities. Its goals include:
- Establishing minimum standards for youth protection at the University of Maryland
- Aligning university practices with legal requirements and industry best practices
- Developing a comprehensive University of Maryland Youth Protection Policy
Membership:
The committee is composed of Youth Protection Advocates who are campus stakeholders with particular expertise or interest in the safeguarding of minors.
