The University of Maryland is excited to join campuses nationwide in celebrating Lab Safety Awareness Week! This week provides an opportunity for researchers to reflect on their safety practices and achievements. ESSR is proud to support the research community with engaging events and activities:
- Laboratory Safety Culture Spotlight Award: Nominate researchers making a positive impact on lab safety. Nominations due February 10.
- Hazardous Waste Facility Tour: Discover what happens to hazardous waste after ESSR collects it. Register online.
- Safety Stand-Down and Self-Inspection Raffle: Pause regular activities to focus on lab safety. Self-Inspections completed on February 11 in SciShield are eligible for a raffle.
- DIY Lab Safety Valentine Cards: Stop by to pick up safety-themed Valentine's cards and treats!
- Lab Safety Week Celebration: Join us for refreshments, giveaways, and awards on February 14 at 1:00 PM in the Kim Engineering Building.
