UMD’s Ben McGee Joins National Academies Study
Ben McGee, Assistant Director for Radiation Safety / Radiation Safety Officer with the Department of Environmental Safety, Sustainability & Risk at the University of Maryland, has been appointed to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) Committee on Assessing Radiation Exposure, Health Outcomes, and Mitigation Strategies for Flight Crewmembers. This congressionally-directed consensus study, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Transportation/Federal Aviation Administration, will examine radiation exposure risks for flight crews and explore strategies to safeguard their health.
